Does doing something twice make it a tradition? Well, we’re making it one! What started as Gentlemen’s Day in the Bleachers last year has become a new annual event — now proudly named Gentlemen’s Day in the Bleachers… and Tammie! (Next year, it might just be Ladies and Gentlemen’s Day in the Bleachers, if Tammie has her way.)
The day kicks off with a hearty breakfast at a local diner, then it’s off to cheer the Cubs to another victory! And what better way to celebrate than with a few cold beers at a local spot, followed by a delicious dinner to top it all off? Looking forward to the next one already!

For the first time ever, I had the incredible opportunity to walk the sacred warning track of the Cathedral known as Wrigley Field. It felt surreal, like stepping into a piece of history, and it’s all thanks to one of the amazing perks Tommy enjoys as a season ticket holder. We strolled along the track just before the 1:20 start against the Nationals on a perfect September 20th afternoon. The sun was shining, the air was buzzing with anticipation, and it was a beautiful day that became even sweeter with a Cubs victory.
A memory I’ll remember forever.

Today was more about the return of Anthony Rizzo to Wrigley Field than a game. The Cub fans and Cubs honored their returning World Series hero. That being said, the Cubs did not play well.

After enjoying two Major League Cubs games, we headed to Des Moines to catch a Triple-A baseball game at Principal Park. This stop not only broke up the eight-hour drive home into two manageable segments but also marked my first visit to a Triple-A baseball stadium and only my fourth minor league ballpark. Unfortunately, the Iowa Cubs struggled, relinquishing a significant lead to the Indianapolis Indians, which they were unable to recover from.

On Saturday afternoon, we explored the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum at 18th & Vine in Kansas City, a landmark dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of African-American baseball and its significant impact on social progress in America. Upon arrival, we found that many other Cubs fans, also in town for the series, had the same idea to visit the museum. We spent a few hours exploring the exhibits before heading to the second game of our Kansas City trip. Continue reading →
Game 2 of the Cubs vs. Royals series was a thrilling turnaround from the first game, showcasing a Cubs’ explosive offense that is rarely seen of late. With stellar pitching from Shota Imanaga and a clutch pinch-hit grand slam home run by Patrick Wisdom, the Cubs secured a 9-4 victory over the Royals. This exciting win was the perfect conclusion to our two games at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, making our visit truly memorable.

A beautiful day in Chicago for baseball – maybe a little warm – as the Cubs took on the Giants to determine the winner of the series. After a moment of silence for the great Giant Willie Mays it was time for baseball. The Cubs had strong pitching and some timely hitting and it looks like they might cruise to an easy win. Unfortunately, Jorge Solare had other plans as he hit a grand slam late off his old team to rally the Giants. The Cubs did manage to hold off the Giants for a 6 to 5 victory and a series win.
