For the first time since 2019 we have a Cubs road trip in the books. Everything was great about this road trip with the exception of the Cubs pitching batting practice on Saturday and Sunday to the Twins.
Things looked promising after a come from behind win on Friday. Rain greeted us as I went to the game on Saturday with my great niece and her parents for her first Cubs game. Despite the loss we had a great time. Going into Sunday I did not think the score could get any worse – I was wrong.
Despite the lopsided losses I enjoyed the visit to Target Field. The stadium is situated between exit ramps for the expressway so finding parking was not that difficult. It did feel like the stadium was wedged into a valley. The inside of the stadium was nice with views of the improving skyline.

For the first time ever I was in Wrigleyville for Opening Day – even if I was not at the game. I ventured to Wrigleyville to celebrate Tommy’s upcoming wedding to Anna. The day started out early as we were in Wrigleyville well before Noon. After a quick breakfast we toured the exterior of the cathedral before we headed for some popular watering holes that included Sluggers Bar – where Tommy and Anna first met – before settling in at the Country Club Bar to watch the game. For the first time I attended a Spring Training game. I was in Florida in March visiting some good friends and we attended the Toronto Blue Jays visiting the Baltimore Orioles at their Spring Home at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida. It was a beautiful evening with a full house of fans with plenty of offense as the Orioles beat the Blue Jays 7 to 4. Continue reading →
