Walk Off Grand Slam Win!!!!
This was a fantastic end to a game the Cubs almost let get away. Jason Hayward crushed a 2-2 pitch to hit a walk off grand slam into the bleachers.
A beautiful night for baseball at Wrigley Field as the Cubs were taking on the Phillies after losing to them the night before. Jose Quintana allowed a couple base-runners in the first inning than proceeded to mow down the Phillies for 5 and 2/3 innings while the Cubs scored three runs. The Cubs were making the game look very workmanlike until they pulled Quintana in the sixth inning. The Cubs proceeded to give up the game tying home run and the lead was gone. This was followed by a two run home run for the Phillies to take the lead in the top of the ninth. A couple walks book-ended a single and set the stage for Jason Hayward. Hayward drove a 2-2 pitch into the right field bleachers for a Cub victory and Wrigley Field went crazy.
