Does doing something twice make it a tradition? Well, we’re making it one! What started as Gentlemen’s Day in the Bleachers last year has become a new annual event — now proudly named Gentlemen’s Day in the Bleachers… and Tammie! (Next year, it might just be Ladies and Gentlemen’s Day in the Bleachers, if Tammie has her way.)
The day kicks off with a hearty breakfast at a local diner, then it’s off to cheer the Cubs to another victory! And what better way to celebrate than with a few cold beers at a local spot, followed by a delicious dinner to top it all off? Looking forward to the next one already!

For the first time ever, I had the incredible opportunity to walk the sacred warning track of the Cathedral known as Wrigley Field. It felt surreal, like stepping into a piece of history, and it’s all thanks to one of the amazing perks Tommy enjoys as a season ticket holder. We strolled along the track just before the 1:20 start against the Nationals on a perfect September 20th afternoon. The sun was shining, the air was buzzing with anticipation, and it was a beautiful day that became even sweeter with a Cubs victory.
A memory I’ll remember forever.

Today was more about the return of Anthony Rizzo to Wrigley Field than a game. The Cub fans and Cubs honored their returning World Series hero. That being said, the Cubs did not play well.

A beautiful day in Chicago for baseball – maybe a little warm – as the Cubs took on the Giants to determine the winner of the series. After a moment of silence for the great Giant Willie Mays it was time for baseball. The Cubs had strong pitching and some timely hitting and it looks like they might cruise to an easy win. Unfortunately, Jorge Solare had other plans as he hit a grand slam late off his old team to rally the Giants. The Cubs did manage to hold off the Giants for a 6 to 5 victory and a series win.

For the first time ever I was in Wrigleyville for Opening Day – even if I was not at the game. I ventured to Wrigleyville to celebrate Tommy’s upcoming wedding to Anna. The day started out early as we were in Wrigleyville well before Noon. After a quick breakfast we toured the exterior of the cathedral before we headed for some popular watering holes that included Sluggers Bar – where Tommy and Anna first met – before settling in at the Country Club Bar to watch the game. People were coming in all day to celebrate with Tommy and Anna and to enjoy a Cub victory. Continue reading →
This was simply the best game of the season. Unfortunately, it was the last good game of the season. The Cubs dug a hole in the top of the first inning by giving up four runs only to come back with a five spot in the bottom of the inning. The Cubs went on to score 17 runs with Anthony Rizzo hitting a grand slam. This is the game that I will think about all winter. Continue reading →
Rain and a loss. Some days you just do not have it and this was one of those days. The Braves were in town and so were our Brave fan friends which made this loss a little harder. Despite the loss we had a great time with friends. The Cubs lost the game 8 to 3.

I got to see the best player in baseball play at Wrigley Field, Unfortunately, Mike Trout was playing for the Angels. Lucky for us Mike Trout played as a mortal and the Cubs won 8 to 1. Continue reading →
After two cool evenings of baseball we finally reached Summer weather (on the most part). The Cubs took on the Phillies and spotted the Phillies three early runs before taking control of the game. Cole Hamels and Tyler Chatwood each pitched four innings before Steve Cisheck closed it out for a Cubs win. Continue reading →
The unseasonably cool and damp weather might have been a precursor for the evening. The Cubs took an early lead against the Marlins only to have the bullpen give up the lead for my first Cubs loss of the season. Despite the weather and the loss we had a great time sitting in the bleachers.
