Our annual baseball road trip took us to Kansas City, where we watched the Cubs face the Royals for two games. We also visited the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and made a final stop in Iowa to see the Iowa Cubs play the Indianapolis Indians.
The trip began with heavy traffic and several detours en route to Kansas City, followed by a disappointing Cubs loss on Friday night. On Saturday afternoon, we explored the Negro League Baseball Museum, which was filled with Cubs fans like us from out of town. The game that night was much more exciting, with Patrick Wisdom hitting a game-winning homer.
On Sunday, we visited Principal Park in Des Moines, Iowa, to watch the Iowa Cubs take on the Indianapolis Indians. After soaking up plenty of baseball, we made one last stop at the World’s Largest Truck Stop on I-80 in Iowa.
